BLOXHUB Match & Create Workshop
Culture and leisure activities in Vollsmose needs to attract more participants in the future. The ambition must be seen in the context of the so-called “Last district plan for Vollsmose” which highlights the importance of integrating Vollsmose with the rest of the city of Odense. One way to succeed in this integration is by utilizing culture and leisure activities. It is a key focus area to work strategically with these types of activities to raise the neighborhood and to make it appealing and attractive among the citizens of Odense.
The purpose of these Match & Create innovation workshops of innovation is to generate new ideas and new ways to look at culture and leisure activities including how to support existing projects and activities in Vollsmose. The workshops will place an emphasis on solutions that can:
- Strengthen the participation in culture and leisure activities among people living in Vollsmose
- Motivate and attract citizens from the entire City of Odense to seek out culture and leisure in Vollsmose
With transverse participation from different businesses including city authorities, actors with a background in art and culture, sport associations, and socio-economic businesses, the goal is to bring knowledge and experiences into play across disciplines among members of BLOXHUB, to create a healthy, active and inclusive local association within culture and leisure as well as to develop BLOXHUB members businesses.
”The Last district plan for Vollsmose” was passed in September last year and is, on one hand, a response to the Danish government’s so-called “Ghetto plan” from the same year, and on the other hand a political agreement on the development of Vollsmose within all of the municipality’s administrative areas. The following years are going to show huge changes in Vollsmose, in order to achieve the goal that will remove Vollsmose from the governments ghetto list and make the neighborhood a naturally integrated part of the city, so that Vollsmose also functions as an open, modern city district that appeals to all kinds of citizens.
