Tradition x Technology
October 25, 2018 @ 14:30 - 16:00
Are tradition and technology always at odds? Or can digitalization revitalize cultural heritage and, vice versa, the vernacular inspire innovation? In this moderated discussion, three keynotes discuss the relationship between technology and tradition –
Tristram Carfrae, Arup, world renowned structural engineer and designer. Tristram will discuss his work on La Sagrada Familia, illustrating the marriage between historical architecture and the cutting edge of fabrication technologies.
Rikke Gram-Hansen, Archiland, philosopher and urban strategist. Rikke will discuss the Street Lab project, which strengthens and sustains Copenhagen’s long-established streets through new technologies, IoT and data handling.
David Garcia, MAP and KADK, architect and teaching associate professor. David will discuss the intersection of architecture, technology and education and how innovation and technology can be integrated into architectural pedagogy.
Moderated by Susan Carruth, GXN innovation.
