SUMMARY:Folkemødet 2026
DESCRIPTION:Housing on Wegovy – Will We Live Smaller in the Future?\nWe want to live large – but should we live smaller? What does a sustainable lifestyle look like\, and who needs to change? \nWe still dream of more square metres\, extra rooms\, and plenty of space. Our homes are closely tied to our identity and our idea of the good life. But what happens to those dreams when sustainability requires us to think differently? \nAs the demands of the green transition intensify\, housing becomes not only a question of buildings\, but also of lifestyle. How much space do we really need? Are we willing to make sacrifices\, or are our ambitions greater than our actions? And does the responsibility lie with individuals\, or with the structures\, habits\, and expectations that shape our housing choices? \nA lifestyle expert\, a representative of the younger generation\, and voices from the real estate sector invite the audience into a debate that leaves room for self-irony\, recognition\, and disagreement – moderated by cultural commentator and journalist Anne Sophia Hermansen. \nThroughout the session\, the audience will be challenged to reflect on their own choices and habits. After all\, if your home had to go on a diet\, what would you cut first? \nModerator\nAnne Sophia Hermansen\nCultural Commentator and Journalist\, Weekendavisen \nSpeakers\nLaura Kock Nielsen\nChairperson\, Unge Lærlinge \nJulia Lahme\nAuthor\, Ethnologist\, and Lifestyle Expert \nDitte Lysgaard Vind\nDirector of Innovation and Knowledge\, BLOXHUB \nDavid Zahle\nPartner and Architect\, BIG \n  \nFind us as part of Vandkantsscenen (H5) Friday 12 2026 from morning till night.

SUMMARY:Narratives Beyond Structures
DESCRIPTION:Architectural Media\, Storytelling\, and Community Building\nWhy do some buildings become destinations while others remain simply buildings? \nAs architecture and real estate development become increasingly experience-driven\, storytelling plays a growing role in shaping how places are perceived\, used\, and remembered. Drawing on projects across Europe and Turkey\, he will discuss how documentary filmmaking and architectural media can be used to communicate ideas\, connect with audiences\, and support the development of meaningful places and communities. \nTopics will include: \n\nStorytelling as a tool in architecture and real estate development\nDocumentary film and architectural media beyond traditional marketing\nBuilding identity and relevance around places\nCommunity engagement and long-term value creation\n\nThe session is relevant for architects\, developers\, asset owners\, contractors\, designers\, brand leaders\, and cultural institutions interested in the relationship between architecture\, communication\, and place-making. \nPractical Information\nDate: 24 June 2026\nTime: 09:00–11:00\nPlace: Bryghuspladsen 8\, 1473 København\, Arena\nSpeaker: Furkan Filiz\, Founder\, FF Creative Space\nLanguage: English \nAbout the Speaker\nFurkan Filiz is an architect and producer working in the field of architectural media through his practice\, FF Creative Space. SUMMARY:London Festival of Architecture - The Paradox of Proximity
DESCRIPTION:Cities bring us closer together than ever before. Yet loneliness\, social fragmentation\, and disconnection continue to grow. How can we design urban environments that foster meaningful connections—not just physical proximity? \nJoin BLOXHUB’s Chief Communications Officer\, Ann-Britt Elvin Andersen & Director\, Global Networks and Partnerships\, Jakob Norman-Hansen for a conversation exploring the paradox of proximity: why living close to one another doesn’t automatically create stronger communities\, and how architecture\, public space\, and city-making can help bridge the gap. Together with practitioners\, researchers\, and urban thinkers\, we’ll discuss how design can strengthen social ties\, create a sense of belonging\, and support healthier\, more connected cities. \nThis event is part of the wider conversation sparked by the London Festival of Architecture\, a platform for exploring how the built environment can create more inclusive\, people-centred cities. \nWho is it for?\nAnyone interested in cities\, architecture\, urban development\, community-building\, and the future of social connection. \nDate & Time\nFriday 26th June 15:00 – 17:00 \nLocation\nThe London Center \nFree for all – more details here
