DESCRIPTION:What is Ibasho?\nIn Japanese\, ibasho describes both a physical place and an inner state – the feeling of being safe\, accepted\, and needed. \nAs an urban design principle\, it links architecture and psychology\, space and social life. It invites us to see belonging not as a by-product of design\, but as a condition for it. \nWhy now?\nCities are facing ageing populations\, social isolation\, and growing mental health challenges. DESCRIPTION:How do we design and transform Europe’s built environment in a rapidly changing world? \nAt UNLEASH Europe\, selected talents from across the continent come together to turn shared challenges into collective action. Through hands-on collaboration\, interdisciplinary teams develop solutions focused on circularity\, the just green transition\, climate adaptation in Arctic and remote regions\, and urban spaces that support health and wellbeing. \nUNLEASH Europe brings together 200 selected talents from across Europe for an intensive week of collaboration focused on Europe’s cities and built environment. \nParticipants work across four thematic tracks: \n🌍 Just transition♻️ Circular futures❄️ Rapidly changing environments (Arctic and remote regions)🌿 Thriving cities (health and wellbeing) \nUNLEASH Europe is invite-only\, with participants selected through an open call.
