SUMMARY:Design Sprint 2024 - In collaboration with The Royal Academy
DESCRIPTION:Does your company need help tackling a design challenge? All members now have the opportunity to work with students from the Royal Danish Academy\, who\, for a five-day design sprint\, will work on your challenge. The event is done in collaboration with the Royal Danish Academy’s Institute for Architecture and Design (IBD). \nThis sprint offers a unique opportunity to advance your company’s sustainability agenda while mentoring the next generation of architects and designers. \nThis initiative will engage master students from four programs: Strategic Design & Entrepreneurship\, Fashion\, Clothing and Textiles\, Furniture Design\, and Spatial Design. \nWe invite you to propose design challenges that align with your company’s objectives and the theme of sustainability. These challenges include architecture\, design\, materials\, innovation\, environment\, social impact\, technical aspects\, political dynamics\, and business strategies. Through this collaboration\, we aim to develop innovative solutions that address complex societal\, environmental\, and economic factors. \nPossible challenge examples include: \n\nEntering a new market\nDesigning within local and planetary limits\nDeveloping new techniques or methodologies\nInnovating with new materials\nUtilizing existing material stock\nCreating regenerative environments\nPromoting inclusivity\, diversity\, and social justice\n\nThe Academy’s faculty will review and refine your proposed challenges to ensure they meet the program’s objectives. \nTo participate we need your Challenge Proposal by 15 June 2024. \nWhat else do you need to do? \n\n On September 9\, we will kick off the workshop by announcing the challenge. You will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the student’s work and results on September 13. The students will be engaged in the program from 2-13 September 2024\, with a special focus on your challenge in the second week.\n\nWe look forward to your participation in this transformative design experience. \nTo learn more or to submit your challenge\, please get in touch with our program coordinator\, Cornelia Jacobsen\, at cja@bloxhub.org Tel: 28831213

SUMMARY:Science Talk: How to Be an Imagination Activist
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a talk with systems thinker and biologist Phoebe Tickell as she explores how principles of living systems can influence a broad range of sectors\, including buildings\, business\, agriculture\, and societal structures. \nPhoebe Tickell is a renegade scientist\, systems thinker and social entrepreneur. She is the founder of the organisation Moral Imaginations and creator of an approach called Imagination Activism: a new kind of activism powered by imagination to create new possibilities and new forms of action. She believes that the vast majority of our challenges are not resource problems\, but imagination problems\, and that imagination is a muscle that can be flexed to change the way we see – and act. Moral Imaginations trains public\, private and community organisations to solve place-based problems\, unleash energy and systemic change. \nImagination Activism is a radical and rigorous approach to practise and strengthen shifts in perception\, move from dreams to action\, to create positive change and chart bold\, ambitious futures. It’s a new kind of activism powered by imagination to see the world differently and the skills to turn bold vision into action. Rather than fighting the old\, it orientates to the new. At the heart of Imagination Activism is Moral Imagination – the ability to look at things as if they could – and should – be otherwise. By changing the way we see the world\, we can create new possibilities and new actions that serve all people\, the planet\, and the coming future generations. \nThere will be time for Q&A at the end. \nPlease sign up for the talk via form here:
