SUMMARY:Nature-based Solutions & Biodiversity in Nordhavn
DESCRIPTION:How do we bring “nature-based solutions” to life in real projects?\n\n\nThe Nature-Based Solutions Member Network (NBS-Net) exists to explore and answer exactly that question. Through a series of practical workshops\, we aim to move nature-based solutions out of theory and into real-world implementation. \n\n\nJoin us for our third workshop on the 7th April at 14:00 in Nordhavn. In this workshop we are pleased to be joined by Annette Walter\, project manager for sustainable urban development at By og Havn. Annette will introduce By and Havns work with nature based solutions and biodiversity in the Nordhavn project – a major urban development of Copenhagen’s port area\, where the city’s land and water meet. \n\n\nAfter the introduction to Nordhavn’s process and design\, we will have a facilitated discussion on how and where nature can be meaningfully integrated into a development of this kind.  \n\n\nThis workshop is the second in a trio exploring nature-based solutions across greenfield\, brownfield and bluefield sites in Denmark – with lessons that extend well beyond these individual cases. As a brownfield site\, Nordhavn must examine ways to reinsert nature to places where it has been stripped away\, and this workshop will explore how that is accomplished in practice. \n\n\nParticipants will gain exposure to peer exchange across disciplines and insights that are transferable to their own work. While open to everyone\, the workshop is particularly relevant for practitioners\, developers\, municipalities and consultants. \n\n\nPracticalities\n\n\nDate: 7 April 2026\nTime: 14:00–16:30\nLocation: By & Havn\, Nordre Toldbod 7\, DK-1259 København K \n\n\nThe first event in the network is free. Participation in subsequent workshops require a membership of BLOXHUB.\n \nContact george@thenextecology.com to register your attendance

SUMMARY:How does data create value for your business?
DESCRIPTION:The new Digital Product Passport for construction products (DPP) is on its way and will within a few years become a permanent part of how we work with materials in construction. Is your company ready for a reality where product data plays a far greater role in collaboration\, documentation and competitiveness? \nOn 9 April\, BLOXHUB\, ConTech Lab and DI Byggeri invite you to a workshop on how we can integrate the EU’s Digital Product Passport\, with a focus on data as the currency of the future – a currency that will be in high demand. But we need a common language for data if we are to unlock its full value\, and the companies that get started early will be better positioned and gain a competitive advantage. \nThe Digital Product Passport for construction products (DPP) is an EU initiative designed to make product data easier to understand and share across the value chain. The passport establishes a new common framework for how goods are documented\, compared and tracked throughout their entire lifecycle. It opens up many opportunities\, but the value will not come on its own. The purpose of the workshop is therefore to build an understanding of how you can turn data into value for your business – and how the DPP can help along the way. \nAt the workshop\, we bring together stakeholders from across the industry for a shared dialogue on: \n– What the DPP entails and what value it can create for your business\n– How we can use the DPP to facilitate collaboration across the value chain\n– What minimum requirements must be met before the DPP comes into force in order to capture its full value\n– How you and your company can prepare for working with the DPP in practice \nWho can participate? The workshop is relevant for anyone working in the construction sector – whether you are a manufacturer\, supplier\, consultant\, contractor\, developer\, or simply interested in how the DPP can create value for your business. The format will be a mix of dialogue and inspirational presentations\, with the opportunity to exchange ideas with other stakeholders across the value chain. \nInspirational presentations \nWhat is the current status and direction of the DPP?\nLouise Bünemann\, Head of EU Environmental Policy\, DI\nJakob Rørbech\, Senior Consultant\, DI Byggeri \nNew business models with data at the centre\nAnne Merete Skov-Petersen\, Co-founder\, MiCollect \nThe circular business opportunities that come with the DPP \nMartha Lewis\, Head of Materials\, Henning Larsen Architects \nHow do we get ready for the DPP? \nChristina Juell-Sundby\, Project Manager\, Molio – ConTech Lab \nPractical information\nDate: Thursday\, 9 April 2026\nTime: 09:00–12:00 (Croissants and coffee/tea from 08:30)\nVenue: BLOXHUB\, meeting room: Los Angeles (Festningens Materialgård\, Frederiksholms Kanal 30\, 1220 Copenhagen)\nLanguage: The workshop will be held in Danish. \nRegister for the workshop here

SUMMARY:BLOXHUB Talks: IBASHO - Belonging as an Urban Design Principle
DESCRIPTION:What is Ibasho?\nIn Japanese\, ibasho describes both a physical place and an inner state – the feeling of being safe\, accepted\, and needed. \nAs an urban design principle\, it links architecture and psychology\, space and social life. It invites us to see belonging not as a by-product of design\, but as a condition for it. \nWhy now?\nCities are facing ageing populations\, social isolation\, and growing mental health challenges. Japanese practice offers a perspective where belonging is treated as foundational infrastructure. \nWhat can Nordic and European cities learn from this approach? \nWhat you will gain \nFor BLOXHUB members and partners\, this session offers an opportunity to: \n\n\nExplore new lenses on urban wellbeing and belonging \n\n\nEngage with Japanese and Nordic practitioners working with placemaking and human-centred transformation \n\n\nReflect on how belonging can function as urban infrastructure \n\n\nTranslate insights into Nordic and European practice through dialogue and collaboration \n\n\nJoin us\nParticipate onsite at BLOXHUB or online via livestream.\nSecure your spot here \nProgramme\n08:30-09:00 Breakfast and arrival – with Japanese culinary touches \n09:00 Welcome and setting the scene: Why Japan – and why now? / Jakob Norman-Hansen\, BLOXHUB \n09:10 Keynote (live online) Yuki Ikeguchi\, Executive Vice President\, Kengo Kuma & AssociatesOn Japanese placemaking and the cultural dimensions of space \n09:30 Keynote Helle Søholt\, Founder & Board Chair\, GehlHuman-centred urban transformation\, including lessons from Shibuya Station revitalisation \n09:50 Ibasho in practice: Belonging as urban infrastructure / Ann-Britt Elvin Andersen\, BLOXHUBIncluding insights from The Paradox of Proximity: Preventing Urban Loneliness \n10:05 Panel conversation and Q&A.
