Klimafolkemødet – A Social Perspective On Energy

How can we ensure that the green transition is also socially just?
In an EU context, Denmark has relatively few people living in energy poverty — yet many are at risk, including tenants, young people, and low-income groups. New research reveals that individuals experiencing energy poverty are not a homogeneous group and that distinct challenges necessitate tailored solutions.
This conversation salon invites reflection and dialogue: How do we engage those who are often excluded from the climate debate? Who takes responsibility for the social impacts of the energy crisis — and how can energy renovations and local involvement play a greater role?
Drawing on European experiences and projects, such as SUPERSHINE, we will explore how the energy transition and social justice can be aligned. The discussion, facilitated by European Green Cities, will be based on open-ended questions, sharing of experiences, and joint exploration.
Take part in the conversation at Klimafolkemødet in Middelfart 29th of August.
