Nature-based Solutions & Biodiversity in Nordhavn

The Nature-Based Solutions Member Network (NBS-Net) exists to explore and answer exactly that question. Through a series of practical workshops, we aim to move nature-based solutions out of theory and into real-world implementation.
Join us for our third workshop on the 7th April at 14:00 in Nordhavn. In this workshop we are pleased to be joined by Annette Walter, project manager for sustainable urban development at By og Havn. Annette will introduce By and Havns work with nature based solutions and biodiversity in the Nordhavn project – a major urban development of Copenhagen’s port area, where the city’s land and water meet.
After the introduction to Nordhavn’s process and design, we will have a facilitated discussion on how and where nature can be meaningfully integrated into a development of this kind.
This workshop is the second in a trio exploring nature-based solutions across greenfield, brownfield and bluefield sites in Denmark – with lessons that extend well beyond these individual cases. As a brownfield site, Nordhavn must examine ways to reinsert nature to places where it has been stripped away, and this workshop will explore how that is accomplished in practice.
Participants will gain exposure to peer exchange across disciplines and insights that are transferable to their own work. While open to everyone, the workshop is particularly relevant for practitioners, developers, municipalities and consultants.
Date: 7 April 2026
Time: 14:00–16:30
Location: By & Havn, Nordre Toldbod 7, DK-1259 København K
The first event in the network is free. Participation in subsequent workshops require a membership of BLOXHUB.
