Narratives Beyond Structures

June 24 @ 9:00 - 11:00

Architectural Media, Storytelling, and Community Building

Why do some buildings become destinations while others remain simply buildings?

As architecture and real estate development become increasingly experience-driven, storytelling plays a growing role in shaping how places are perceived, used, and remembered. Beyond design and construction, narratives can help create identity, build engagement, and strengthen the long-term value of a project.

In this talk, architect and producer Furkan Filiz, Founder of FF Creative Space, will share perspectives from his work at the intersection of architecture, film, and brand strategy. Drawing on projects across Europe and Turkey, he will discuss how documentary filmmaking and architectural media can be used to communicate ideas, connect with audiences, and support the development of meaningful places and communities.

Topics will include:

  • Storytelling as a tool in architecture and real estate development
  • Documentary film and architectural media beyond traditional marketing
  • Building identity and relevance around places
  • Community engagement and long-term value creation

The session is relevant for architects, developers, asset owners, contractors, designers, brand leaders, and cultural institutions interested in the relationship between architecture, communication, and place-making.
