The new feature documentary “Purpose — a Wellbeing Economies Film” asks the central questions of our time: What is the purpose of our economies and how can we change it? The film follows two years in the life of political economists and initiators of The Wellbeing Economy Alliance, Katherine Trebeck and Lorenzo Fioramonti, driven by the vision of a world in which we no longer serve the economy, but the economy serves us.
The filmmaker Martin Oetting gets close to Katherine and Lorenzo as they are developing groundbreaking policy projects to transform our economic systems – away from endless GDP growth and destruction of our planet and towards a model that centers the thriving of both people and planet.
