Realdania granted funding in 2023 for three collaborative projects to promote the circular economy in construction. These projects, evolving from the Circular Built Environment Network (CBEN), focus on developing and promoting commercial solutions and services. Each collaboration involves two to three CBEN-affiliated companies.
This event will showcase the projects’ results and demonstrate the practical application of applied science.
Program:
Material Stories by Lene Damsbo Brix, Circue
Material Stories is a collaborative project with Circue, Twin Transition, Enemærke & Petersen, and The Royal Danish Academy. It supports the flow of recycled materials in the public housing sector by developing a (digital) framework of knowledge and a dialog tool that can be used to communicate different value-creating aspects of recycled materials directly to residents.
Circular Potentials on the Site by Frederik Agdrup, Tredje Natur
Tredje Natur has, in collaboration with Enemærke & Petersen, been developing a publication that works as a tool. Based on two different building cases, they define a framework for assessing reuse and recycling potentials for materials in outdoor spaces and landscapes.
Guide to Social Commissioning and Post-Occupancy Evaluation by Vibeke Grupe Larsen, Danish Association of Architectural Firms
The Danish Association of Architectural Firms and AART have been developing a guide for architects on performing social commissioning and post-occupation evaluation. The guide defines how social sustainability, linked to the use and application of buildings, can generate social, environmental, and economic value for building owners and users and thereby support the circular economy.
