Right now, many U.S. cities are entering a period of urban renewal—and with it comes real momentum around new types of partnerships, collaboration models, and innovation for how we design and build our cities. And that’s exactly where BLOXHUB comes in!

Over the past years, we’ve partnered with cities across the US, the latest being the City of Tacoma, Washington, where we’ve curated partnerships and a process to support the revitalization of its downtown. And now, we’re back in the Northwest to connect with ULI Northwest and other partners to understand the challenges cities and urban professionals are tackling across the region.

It’s been incredibly inspiring to exchange ideas with COurban Design Collective , Runberg Architecture Group, City of Seattle, Scan Design Foundation, City of Tacoma, and The Swedish Club, and many others, to explore the growing synergies between the Pacific Northwest and the Nordics. And there are many!

”Revitalization is a complex challenge that many cities across the globe currently face and struggle to find the right responses to. This challenge is a great example of where new, cross-disciplinary approaches are needed in order to find resilient solutions – and it’s exactly this new perspective and expertise that BLOXHUB adds to a city’s considerations, process, and projects. The interest in getting an outside-in perspective and to break down silos have overwhelmed me during the visit in the Pacific Northwest. There’s obviously a pressing need for bridging knowledge across disciplines, sectors, and nations.” Martine Reinhold Kildeby, Global Networks & Partnerships Director, BLOXHUB

At BLOXHUB, we bring together people and organizations across disciplines to turn bold urban ideas into real, scalable solutions. Acting as a “third space,” we help cities and companies innovate beyond their day-to-day operations—and we’re excited to do even more of this across the Atlantic.

👉 What’s next?
Following the activities in the Northwest, we’ve been to Denver, Colorado to connect with the city, key stakeholders, and engage with ULI during the ULI Spring meeting. These exciting conversations are setting the stage for even deeper transatlantic partnerships – so next steps are more partnerships across the US. With your city maybe?
