WHAT

These two companies were matched by the BLOXHUB team. Now they’ve joined forces to build Denmark’s first co2 neutral hotel + coastal protection.

WHY

To ensure that the community in Lolland-Falster grow sustainable, in balance with nature, and anchored in the local culture.

THE STORY

Kim Rahbek ApS, Schønherr and Business Lolland-Falster were introduced to each other in BLOXHUB. Now, they work together on Rødbyhavn Waterfront Hotel – a sustainable, circular hotel by the sea which also needs thorough coastal protection in the hotel area.

The building itself will be built in wooden CLT elements, and by establishing a geothermal heating system in the ground plus solar & wind power, it will be energy self-sufficient. It will have a minimum footprint and thereby changing as little as possible in the natural environment.

Quote:
“We can and must build more sustainably. And with this partnership that was put into play by the BLOXHUB team, we show, that it is possible to build large, beautiful, AND sustainably” Kim Rahbek, Owner of Kim Rahbek ApS.
