WHAT

Through an Urban Partnerships workshop, these players joined forces to find out how to use blockchain to solve crucial dilemmas in the building industry. Their first concrete product is nine recommendations collected in a white paper.

WHY

The building industry has a number of challenges that the blockchain technology can help solve.

THE STORY:

NEW COLLABORATION KICKSTARTS THE USE OF BLOCKCHAIN IN CONSTRUCTION

Through an Urban Partnerships workshop, BLOXHUB matched the four companies HD Lab, Zublin, Niras and Smith Innovation + several more contributors to find out how the blockchain technology can support the building industry in solving crucial questions.

Blockchain is a technology that has, at large, bypassed construction so far. But these four companies had a common interest in discovering the potentials for the industry.

After several in-depth innovation workshops with inputs from technology suppliers and key players from the entire construction value chain, the four players reached new important insights and decided to share their learnings.

The result is nine concrete recommendations shared in a white paper to help encourage further development of the use of blockchain in construction.

“It is my hope that by spreading the knowledge that was created during this process with BLOXHUB, we can contribute to further development of the use of blockchain in the construction industry” Niels Falk, CEO, HD Lab.

Since the workshops in BLOXHUB, HD Lab and their collaborators have built upon their new-gained knowledge and created the forum Byggeriets blockchains. Here, the partners investigate six concrete blockchain case projects.
