On October 2, 2025, BLOXHUB will host a full-day program at the Nordic Pavilion at the World EXPO in Osaka, Japan. The World EXPO events are held every 5 years,as a meeting point to address issues facing humankind. There, BLOXHUB and partners will explore a fundamental question: how can cities do more than simply house us—how can they actively support our wellbeing? From the spaces we move through to the communities we’re part of, we’ll look at how design, innovation, and cross-cultural dialogue can help create cities that care.
“Right now, we see huge interest from Japan about the Nordic approach to creating thriving cities, and the World Expo in Osaka is a unique platform for architects, advisors, and tech companies to build attention and develop meaningful business connections. I’m thrilled that BLOXHUB has been selected to curate a day of events focused on urban wellbeing at the Nordic Pavillion, and I hope that innovative organizations in our network will use this opportunity to explore an exciting market.” Jakob Norman-Hansen, Director of Global Networks & Partnerships, BLOXHUB
What you can be part of on October 2nd:
- Launch of a new publication exploring how cities can be designed to foster connection and combat loneliness.
- Talks on Danish innovation and work culture, highlighting value-driven approaches to sustainable urban living.
- Reflections on the Japanese concept of Imbasho – the idea of creating spaces where people can feel a sense of belonging and purpose – and how it might inspire new ways of thinking about place and wellbeing in urban life.
We’re building a vibrant, open program for the day — and we welcome input from any interested parties or those who plan to attend. If you have ideas, projects, or initiatives that might resonate with the theme of wellbeing in cities, let’s connect.
