Design Sprint 2024 – In collaboration with The Royal Academy

September 2 @ 8:00 - September 13 @ 17:00

Does your company need help tackling a design challenge? All members now have the opportunity to work with students from the Royal Danish Academy, who, for a five-day design sprint, will work on your challenge. The event is done in collaboration with the Royal Danish Academy’s Institute for Architecture and Design (IBD).

This sprint offers a unique opportunity to advance your company’s sustainability agenda while mentoring the next generation of architects and designers.

This initiative will engage master students from four programs: Strategic Design & Entrepreneurship, Fashion, Clothing and Textiles, Furniture Design, and Spatial Design.

We invite you to propose design challenges that align with your company’s objectives and the theme of sustainability. These challenges include architecture, design, materials, innovation, environment, social impact, technical aspects, political dynamics, and business strategies. Through this collaboration, we aim to develop innovative solutions that address complex societal, environmental, and economic factors.

Possible challenge examples include:

  • Entering a new market
  • Designing within local and planetary limits
  • Developing new techniques or methodologies
  • Innovating with new materials
  • Utilizing existing material stock
  • Creating regenerative environments
  • Promoting inclusivity, diversity, and social justice

The Academy’s faculty will review and refine your proposed challenges to ensure they meet the program’s objectives.

To participate we need your Challenge Proposal by 15 June 2024.

What else do you need to do?

  •  On September 9, we will kick off the workshop by announcing the challenge. You will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the student’s work and results on September 13. The students will be engaged in the program from 2-13 September 2024, with a special focus on your challenge in the second week.

We look forward to your participation in this transformative design experience.
