Innovation Fund Denmark and philanthropical organization Realdania have once again joined forces, unveiling a new industrial research network dedicated to being a catalyst for change and advancing the field of regenerative construction.

The initiative “Towards a Regenerative Built Environment” invites industry stakeholders, public entities, and research institutions to answer a thematic call and join the development of knowledge and innovative solutions within a Regenerative Built Environment.

Following its predecessor’s footsteps, the Circular Built Environment Network, this fresh network of industrial researchers will be nestled under the umbrella of the Science department at BLOXHUB. The team will play a pivotal role in facilitating the network.

Chief of Innovation and Science at BLOXHUB, Ditte Lysgaard Vind, explains:

“We can and should build better, but too little innovation is implemented at scale. The new research network is about finding and elevating future solutions to regenerative construction and building in ways that enhance climate resilience and well-being for humans and ecosystems. I am happy and proud that Realdania and the Innovation Fond have once again chosen BLOXHUB to facilitate this important network- acting as a bridge between industry partners and academia.”

The upcoming network will comprise 10-15 industrial research projects undertaken by various companies and research institutions. Over three years, these projects are poised to yield cutting-edge, commercially viable innovations rooted in research. What distinguishes this endeavor is its commitment to comprehensive collaboration, fostering the cultivation of knowledge and solutions across various sectors and disciplines.

The thematic call extends a compelling invitation to researchers and companies alike to partake in this initiative. It seeks out those ready to challenge norms, forge connections across disciplines, and play an instrumental role in shaping the trajectory of regenerative construction.

Applications are welcomed for both industrial PhDs and industrial postdocs to encourage widespread participation in the research network. Proposals are to be submitted, with deadlines set for April and September 2024. For more information or to apply, please see here:  Innovation Fund Denmark
