Knowledge, Science and Data are crucial when it comes to making the best possible solutions for our cities. Therefore, we bridge science and practice. By providing a third space for researchers and professionals, we ensure and explore common ground through talks, conferences and networking.
Thematic Call for Industrial Research Network:
Towards a Regenerative Built Environment
Realdania and Innovationsfonden have launched a new industrial research network focusing on regenerative built environments. The main aim of this network is to bring together researchers, companies, and science institutions to develop new insights and solutions for enhancing industry collaboration and fostering solutions across sectors and disciplines. This will help create growth and value in Denmark by working towards a regenerative built environment.
Applications are welcomed for both industrial PhDs and industrial postdocs to encourage widespread participation in the research network. Proposals are to be submitted, with deadlines set for April and September 2024.
Science Networks
The science networks develop new knowledge and share it within the network and with the BLOXHUB community. This helps us ensure an important sharing of knowledge between research and practice:
DARE Network
2020: The vision of the Danish network for Architecture and Urbanism Research (DARE) is to bring together Danish educational and research institutions within architecture, urbanism and landscape planning with a focus on promoting sustainable development and establishing a network where research-related activities are discussed, challenged and evaluated across the institutions.
Circular Built Environment
2020 – 2023: 15 industrial PhD’s/postdocs and 2 Grand Solutions Projects will form this network beginning in late 2020. All projects will focus on a shift from a conventional Construction Industry to a Circular Resource Economy.
They will share learnings with each other and with the BLOXHUB community to spread out important knowledge to the industry.
Smart City Research
2017 – 2020: This network consists of nine industrial PhD’s & postdocs and their advising companies and universities. All of them are working within the Smart buildings & Smart cities agenda.
They share learnings with each other and with the BLOXHUB community to spread out important knowledge to the industry.
Building Equity: Housing as a Key to a Low-Carbon Society
As Europe faces the urgent task of reducing emissions in the built environment, the housing sector is central to both environmental and social sustainability. This white paper outlines how the housing sector can play a leading role in Europe’s transition to a low-carbon future. It draws on the expertise of industry leaders, NGOs, and key stakeholders to propose a vision of housing that addresses climate goals while ensuring affordable living conditions for citizens.
This white paper highlights inspiring case studies and offers a path forward through innovation, collaboration, and social value creation. It underscores the importance of viewing housing as a human right and emphasizes that affordable housing and decarbonization can go hand in hand.
